When a couple comes from two or more religious faith traditions, we honor the faiths in a harmonious and balanced ceremony focusing on the positive similarities and differences with deep honor and respect. The interfaith ceremony incorporates music, words and ritual in a way that is inclusive, welcoming and focuses on the love and common elements that brings the couple together.
Many of the couples Rabbi Gershon works with choose to have two officiants, one representing each faith. Over the years he has performed ceremonies with many different clergy members. He has worked with clergy from different faiths in their churches and temples, as well. Sometimes couples request to have a representative from one faith leading the ceremony along with family members from the second tradition representing the other tradition.
Many couples today come from diverse backgrounds; different countries, cultures within the same country and a lot of different backgrounds. Rabbi Gershon is warm and welcoming to everyone and he sees everyone as equal. Each ceremony is carefully crafted with your preferences in mind. He officiates fusion ceremonies, services that combine elements from both backgrounds. There are couples and their families who prefer to have two separate ceremonies and Rabbi Gershon is honored to officiate their ceremony.
SPIRITUAL NOT RELIGIOUS WEDDINGS
Many of the couples Rabbi Gershon works with prefer a cultural or humanist approach to their ceremony. They want to handpick Jewish traditions like break the glass or a chuppah into a ceremony that speaks about their personal story and love for each other. In a collaborative manner, Rabbi Gershon, his scriptwriter, Yehudit Steinberg and the couple create a one of a kind ceremony.
